Only one week to go...
....GREAT! This is so exciting! To be able to provide a hot soup and sandwich. So many ideass pop up for food, as well as other possibilities. Of course the goal is to use what we already have on stock as much as pactical. As well we hope that eventually there will be donations of soup, etc. Since this mission is funded by the church there will be NO charge for the meal. Of course donations will be graciuosly accepted. Any donations will go to the "Two Cent a Meal" project to help others. This program asks those that aree able to donation two pennies for each meal they eat each day. If a person were to eat just two meals daily for a month - that becomes $1.20 a month. It adds up when many people are able to help... therefore helping reduce hunger in the world around us. Now it's time to get ready for next Wednesday!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and reality is bginning to set in! January will be upon us in so little time. We need to get the word out to the community about Food & Fellowship. I have given a message to the TV cable company for posting on the 'message channel'. We have asked the local ministerium group to announce in their individual churches. We need to get signs out and then place signs near our church to direct people. Still we ponder... what soup to make? What sandwich will people like?

Where do we start??
What should the soup choices be? Should we have a vegetarian option? What will people like? Expect? We never want to run out no matter how many people arrive, so we need to plan for a lot - yet we do not want to waste. There are so many great soups to pick from... what do we start with? Then for the sandwich choices. Again some of the same questions. So much to think about and plan!!

Food & Fellowship - process begins!
Sunday Dec. 6, 2009 the Elders of the Curwensville Presbyterian Church (curpres.org) voted to begin a Food & Fellowship program on Jan. 6, 2010. There will be a soup and sandwich supper every Wednesday (rain or shine!) 5:30 to 6:30 pm in the church basement. As a mission of the church there will be no cost to participants. Donations will of course be graciously accepted. All the community will be invited. Youth and children under 18 must be accompanied by and adult. This will be a chance to enjoy food and friendship with others in the community!
